THE HORIZON OF THE SUN DISC
The star chart below shows the sky below El
or Akhetaten, when the vernal equinox begins to rise.
This is Lower Egypt.
At the bottom center of the Sun Disc is the asterism of a constellation associated with the "mouth of god" under the Tree of Life, or Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Aquarius pours a libation upon the dead man at the bottom, and the libation is the "life giving waters" that cause the sun to rise, and the tree to grow. Look carefully at the shape of Akhenaten below, as portrayed on his temples, and see the remarkably similar shape to the constellation Sculptor.
The hat on the head of his wife, Nefertiti, implies that she is the projection of the mundane man into Upper Egypt, as the virtuous, beautiful, and benevolent Virgo. The ribbon on her hat could easily be identified with the horizon of the galaxy and the ecliptic path below. The bottom of the ecliptic ribbon conjuncts the temple above Nefertiti's ear, precisely as the temple of Akhetaten conjuncts the bottom of the ecliptic in the heavens, today.
These two make an "ideal" couple to begin a new world, in which time stands still. Their utopia kingdom knew no period for which their Eternal City would not be the very definition of cosmic centrality. These two were intended to become the mundane versions of Geb and Nut, the first parents of humanity under the sun.
It was an ideal whose time was to come some 1380 years after they established their temple. But, it was an ideal created with the arrogance of Khnum. It was an ideal that would attempt to deny the sacred sciences which Egypt had employed for over 1700 years. The arrogance of believing that self truth is always cosmic truth cost Egypt a worldwide empire, and it cost humanity its cosmic perspective of the celestial garden in the heavens. The overwhelming feminine aspect of the vignette of Father Akhenaten and Mother Nefertiti, merges Nut and Geb on an equal plane, and it places the thrones at the symbols of Shu (air and rationality) and Tefnut (water lilies and an attentive sensuality). The obvious intent was the completion of the uniting of Upper and Lower Egypt under the Sun Disc, which was represented as the hieroglyph for light. This utopia idea did not require any test for proof, or judgment day of correction, because it was the visible cosmos directly in front of the face.
The Aten cult may have received much of its financing and power from the seven hundred wives of Amenophis III; nearly all coming from the enemy lands in Asia Minor. The excess female royalty and the movement of Amenophis III from Heliopolis to Thebes may have been a major factor in the transition of the throne after he died on the eve of his third Sed festival. A Sed festival was celebrated when a Pharaoh reached thirty years on the throne, and was a god king longer than the "ancient of days," Saturn. One fact is quite clear, the Akhenaten approach was grossly feminine, and it was not The Humble Approach.
After Akhenaten and Nefertiti lost the throne of Egypt, there was some confusion as to the successor, until Tutankaten was placed on the throne at approximately nine years of age. The diadem of Tutankaten shows a compromise was struck between the followers of the Aten tradition and the followers of the Amun tradition. Note the horizon of the sun disc around the diadem, and the descending ribbons depicting the ecliptic passage through Pisces, where the sun begins to rise. A Uraeus rises up at the end of each of the lower ribbons; a clear indication that the Eye of Ra will rise again. Across the top of the diadem the oscillating body of a Uraeus symbolizes Upper Egypt. The uraeus was the symbol for the Eye of Ra, and it was the constellation Serpens, in the hands of Ophiuchus, and also Hydra under Virgo and Leo, in Upper Celestial Egypt. This diadem also concedes to the traditions of Osiris, for it shows the vulture, Nekhbet, alongside the Uadjet serpent. The vulture was the symbol of lower egypt, and the symbol of resurrection, which carried the reborn king, Antinous, on the wings of the vulture, the modern Aquila. The Uadjet serpent represented the vision of prophesy, which was the dream of kings. The Aten religion denied the resurrection of Osiris, so this placement of Nekhbet on the diadem is an indication of compromise. A compromise of the future with the past, of death with life, of compassion with sovereignty.
In the adjacent image of Tutankhaten, there is no compromise between Upper and Lower Egypt. With the hands of Aten adjacent to the right side of the headdress, the placement of a vulture would be a clear contradiction. The Aten is the hieroglyph for light, while the vulture is a hieroglyph for darkness and death, but the Aten cult preached eternal light, and a vulture compromise would be unacceptable. It would be the same as having a crucifix placed on top of the doorway leading into a synagogue. Notice the clear presentation of a rising Eye of Ra, with its solar disc, on the temple of Tutankhaten at the ear on the head cover holding the headdress in place. This is the symbol of the "moment of the first occasion," for which Akhetaten was the Eternal City.
In the complete vignette with Aten and the wife of Tutankhaten, Ankhesenpaaten, shown below, the unification of gods is amplified by the unification of the king and his wife. Her headdress is taller than his, and though she stands on a lower level than he, she wears one of his sandals, indicating that they walk as one. A very unique condition for a Son of God.
However, when his reign was through, he was
Tutankhamun, and his priests had restored the rule of Amun and Osiris from
Lower Celestial Egypt. His funeral diadem still contains the uraeus and vulture
of Upper and Lower Egypt, and his arms still hold the symbols of physical
and mental accomplishments, as the flail and the crook. These implements
are acquired at the constellations of Antinous under the galactic plane,
and Bootes above the galactic plane. One point is very clear, Egypt used
its living and its dead Pharaohs to carry the messages of life. The one message
which Tutankhamun/aten carries above all the others, is, "he who equally
worships the heavens above and the heavens below will be preserved when all
others have passed on." Of all the kings of Egypt, only Tutankhamun survived
with the seal on his tomb intact, when the sun began to rise.
