The essay Transcendence in Mayan Mythology demonstrated valuable esoteric wisdom in the Maya concept of the cosmogenesis of First Father in 2012. The follow up essay Source of the Cosmogenesis Story presented a cursory introduction to the source of all the greatest myths, Mayan or otherwise. The essay ended with the comment, "When the ancestors first saw the enlightenment, is not yet known, for it is still lost in the cycles of the heavens. The result of the enlightenment has been found again. The enlightenment was the Word, as originally expressed by whatever Force has the capacity to place the stars on their individual journeys. That Force is incredibly greater than any force knowable to humans. The cosmogenesis of 2012 will be a realization that the Word was that force, and those that can comprehend the Word, will be given the power to become sons of God." I have repeated these words to emphasize the point that the Maya myths were not esoteric fantasies, they had the very high goal of turning Maya children into gods. This is the goal of all religions. This is the meaning of the 5th Sun.

We must not blind ourselves to the fact that rational science, when applied to the metaphysics of religion, is incompetent. This incompetence comes from the tyrannical hypothesis implied by the scientific method as we apply it today. Our version of the scientific method excludes subjectivity. More important to the science initiate, is the mandatory edict that any scientific expression be presented with all subjectivity removed and replaced by total objectivity. That tyranny is an action of the trickster known as Seven Macaw to the Maya. If the Maya myths are expressing the Word of First father, then it has to be subjective. The subject is the whole essence of the myth. Science must exclude the complete story in order to be objective. That exclusion makes the modern scientific method incompetent to comprehend the subject of the cosmos as understood through any ancient myth which is a subjective vision of the cosmos.

The present essay will demonstrate that objectivity and subjectivity have special roles to play in any process of understanding. The object is, in effect, the original intent of the Force which caused the object to be an object. The subject is the message within the object which reveals an original intent for the object. In order for communication to occur, the subject must identify through the object, the original intent of the Force which caused the object to be an object. Consciousness of a cosmic intent requires an object medium and a subject message through and from which cosmic truth transcends. This "law" of communication applies at all microscopic and macroscopic levels.

We cannot expect to take an initiate from total ineptness to direct rational understanding of the initiating Cosmic Force. Ritual and rote learning are primarily subliminal communication techniques. We can, however, imply to the initiate that there is a plan, and the initiate can find that plan within the ritual. A primary difficulty in all endeavors of this nature is that initiates do not want to know the plan, they want "salvation" results. The originator of the plan is the one called First Father. The messenger who carries the plan as a cosmic object is the one called First Mother. The idea that First Mother expresses First Father at the cosmogenesis of 2012 implies "how?" and "why?" essences. First is the clear statement that the emotion of the object expresses the meaning of the message carried. By proper association, the message can be deciphered from the First Mother's expression. In the investigation of Mother Nature, science has found an enormous number of "how?" messages in its pursuits. These messages have become the Sacred Cow dogma of science, stripped of the subjective "why?" purpose. Science does not concern itself with the "why?" question. Ancient sacred science studied the "how?" and the "why?" questions simultaneously, as the means to an intent, or the "will of God."

Science as we experience it comes to us through human endeavors. The human who pursues a scientifically verifiable truth begins with the objectivity of personal desire which is expressed as an hypothesis. It is at this initial stage that much of modern science begins to become spiritually incompetent. When it comes to archaeology and anthropology, the initiating objectivity of the scientist blinds the search for truth. In the stars of the Maya cosmos is the demon to modern science called astrology. Modern science owes its very existence to astrology which was a study of the stars on an objective and subjective basis. Astrology declares that there is meaning in the stars. Modern science has denied that meaning can exist in the stars. This denial is the cause of the spiritual incompetence of science regarding metaphysics. This barrier comes from a need to limit science to material substance. Science is Mother Nature's compassion separated from Father Nature's intention.

To avoid stepping beyond the barrier at the edge of non-objective science, let me suggest that we ask two simple questions regarding the Maya. Did they see messages in the stars? If they saw messages in the stars, do the objects which revealed the messages still carry the messages? In other words, can the stars show the message without a Maya priest voicing an opinion of the message. This is not a simple process, for a believer in the Maya message is essentially expressing a reincarnated spirit of the Maya, and is therefore, a Maya in spirit. So, lets start with a different approach. Lets look at our modern Western Culture and see if we have the "secret" celestial messages buried within our own material science. Then lets compare what we accomplished with our messages to what the Maya accomplished with their messages to get a better appreciation of the myth of the Maya. This is the old adage, "walk a mile in my shoes," inversed to show we have gone the same way.

Our modern calendar is called the Gregorian calendar. It is a modification of the Julian calendar which was initiated by Julius Caesar in 46 BC. When Caesar established his calendar, he added the customary 23 days after February 23, and an additional 67 days between November and December so that 46 BC was 445 days in length, with the specific intent of aligning the new calendar to the vernal equinox. That is a celestial message which cannot be ignored. Why was it necessary to use the vernal equinox, why not the autumn equinox, or one of the solstices? Two things entered the scientific expression of a calendar. First, the calendar had to have a celestial basis, because it was a means of counting days, which is a cycle to a star. Second, the periodicity of 365.25 days of the Julian calendar needed a reference point to link the New Year to a larger cycle of the same star. Caesar was emperor of Rome, and most of the Western World, thus, as the ruler, he could make a choice based upon his on desires. This choice added subjectivity to the calendar. Two adversaries of modern science had been placed in the calendar, astral logic and subjectivity.

For 3000 years prior to Julius Caesar, the Egyptians had used a civil calendar and a Sothic calendar. The Sothic calendar was synchronized with the heliacal rise of Sirius with the morning sun. Since Sirius has a period of 365.2500 days, this was a celestial based leap year calendar for the Egyptians. This was the Egyptian celestial year to a star that was not the sun, but required no intercalation every four years. The civil calendar was thirty six ten day periods with one five day period to celebrate the birth of the children of Nut and Geb, Mother Sky and Father Earth. Thus, Caesar accepted the Sothic calendar period, and rejected the subjective calendar of Egypt, for his own subjective rendition, and he joined the two calendars as one. A day and a year were both tied to the sun, and Sol Invictus, the Invincible Sun, became the law of the land, as cosmic time lost its relevance.

The children of Nut and Geb were Osiris, Horus the Elder, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys. There is a direct correspondence in the number of children of Nut and Geb to the Maya number of ages that needs to be understood. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys played dominant roles in the ritual life of the Egyptians. Osiris is the archetype of human experience, and he died at the hand of his brother Seth, who was the archetype of self identity. This should not be a metaphysical surprise, and it should be clear that the cause of the absence of ancestral wisdom is usurping self awareness. Sol Invictus is personal star consciousness at the expense of cosmic consciousness. Isis represented the nurturing mother in Egyptian spiritual life, and she had been the throne wife of Osiris. This throne can be identified with consciousness, where nurturing emotion sits as a provider of desirable experience. It can also be identified with the path of the sun, and the ecliptic wife, Virgo. Nephthys on the other hand was the "house" wife of Osiris. Her work was to keep the material world in order. She is associated with Andromeda in the "house of her lord." These four neters of Egypt were representing the archetypes of the four metaphysical elements, fire, air, water, and earth, which are metaphors related to the spiritual, rational, physical, and material aspects of existence. There were also several constellations representing these four neters, foremost among them were Orion, Lepus, Virgo, and Andromeda. Horus the Elder was inactive in this generation, but his essence evolves in the next generation through the 5th Son.

According to legend, after Osiris had been entombed by Seth, Isis found his dead body and was made to be with child. This child, Horus, was the conforming son of experience and emotion. He came to Egypt to fight for the return of his father's kingdom which his usurping uncle had taken. The parallel between Osiris, Horus, Seth, and One Hunahpu, Hunahpu, Seven Macaw are derived from cosmic messages and human experiences. This essence of the cosmic message is in the following questions. "Should the son of a king conform to the intent of the originating king, or should the son of a king conform to the dictates of rational usurpation?" Does the lack of perfect efficacy in celestial logic mean that there are no rational messages in the stars? Does science deny the subject of the cosmos, which is alive, in order to rationalize the object of the cosmos, which is not alive?

Pope Paul III recruited astronomers to solve a synchronization problem of the Julian calendar, when it was discovered prior to 1582, that the vernal equinox did not fall on March 25 any more. Upon his election, Pope Gregory XIII had his bishops establish a new calendar on February 24, 1582, which was to assure that the months stayed locked to the seasons. The current Gregorian calendar is a leap year calendar in which every year divisible by four has an extra day at the end of February. The Gregorian calendar does not have a leap year on century years if the century is not divisible by four hundred. Every 3300 years the Gregorian calendar will have to give back another excess leap day to keep the calendar tuned to the seasons. One effect, and possible intent, of this modified Julian tropical calendar is a loss of cosmic consciousness and Pagan rituals for synchronization to the cosmic center. It is the Pagan rituals within the Catholic ritual that still synchronize the cosmos to the Gregorian calendar.

There is another subjective change initiated by Pope Gregory XIII. He moved New Year's Day to January 1, so that it would be closer to the winter solstice, and at the beginning of a month. Also, the British colonies did not accept the authority of the Pope, so they waited until 1752 before they forced the British calendar to coincide with the Catholic calendar. This point was made clear to me when reading a Royal Astronomer's description of an eclipse, and finding an eleven day error in his work. After consulting the British calendar system, I realized he was on a British calendar, not the Catholic calendar. In my objective pursuit, I had failed to keep track of the subjectivity which must inevitably be in any calendar system.

If we are to determine the scientific basis for any celestial observation, we have to have an accurate count of the number of days back to the observation. Using a month and day method can cause significant error, since the calendar has subjective elements to it. Because of this subjectivity, astronomers have adopted a Julian calendar of 365.25 days to a year. They also chose the Greenwich meridian at 12:00 noon on January 1, 4713 BC as the zero reference. The Julian zero date has been attributed to Joseph Scaliger (1540-1609) . He chose the Greenwich meridian at noon on January 1, 4713 B.C. as the Julian zero date. The "logic" behind the date was a choice for the synchronous alignment of the repetitive characteristics of three existing calendar systems, the 28 year Julian cycle, the 19 year Golden Number lunar cycles, and a 15 year Roman tax cycle. It is clear that the Julian calendar was not intended to be a celestial based accounting system like the Maya long count calendar. We will use this secular Julian calendar for dating sacred celestial events for the sake of conformity to readily available astronomical planetarium programs.

And finally, there is another phenomenon which must be understood when counting backward using any calendar based upon the Catholic calendar. The Catholic calendar was derived from the Roman calendar. However, it set the first date to the year 1 A.D. We can count back to 1 A.D., but the day before January 1, 1 AD is December 31, 1 BC. There are two years missing! What happened to December 31, 0 A.D. and January 1, 0 B.C.? The answer is, the Roman system did not have a zero, therefore, there never was a year 0 A.D. or 0 B.C. This point is critical to understanding the science of the Maya Long Count. The astronomer's calendar cuts the loss to one year on a numerical basis, by starting with a 1 BC date for the first negative count day. Thus, when counting backward through the years before 1 BC, remember to eliminate one year in the number of the years.

Gospel myth says that all children born between January 1, 0 B.C. and December 31, 0 A.D. were eliminated from the book of life. Every child in Bethlehem was sacrificed under two years of age when the new Romanized calendar was established. This event was recorded in the action Herod was reported to have taken on discovering of the existence of a new born king, as reported in Matt 2:14-16. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son. Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. So, the villainy of Herod carries a message about our modern calendar. It also carries the Maya idea of the age of the 5th Sun, and a new born king! The time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men is a reference to the Magi synchronizing the calendar to a cosmic event representing the arrival of the new heavenly king on earth.

Astronomical calculations are performed using the Julian leap year calendar before 1700 AD. On March 1, 1700, the Julian calendar would have had a leap year date of February 29, 1700. However, the astronomical community has agreed to use the Gregorian calendar after October 15, 1582. This is a clean date for calculation purposes, however, it generates confusion when the Julian days are calculated across the period from March 1, 1700 to October 4, 1582. The following calculations may help understand the variation in the astronomical date for on the Maya long count calendar and the typical Gregorian date used by Mayanologists.

13 Baktun is an unambiguous value of 1,872,000 days. A Gregorian calendar has a year which is calculated on the basis of four centuries, such that the Gregorian period is 146,097 days for four hundred years. The Julian calendar year is 365.25 days, or 146,100 days per four hundred years. If we divide the 1,872,000 days for 13 Baktun by 146,097/400, we get 5125.3619 years. The period from 2012 AD back 5125 years results in the year 3114 BC. As mentioned earlier, the Gregorian BC dates start with 1 BC, so that an additional year is added to get the actual Gregorian calendar year. The remainder of 0.3619 years is 132.18 days before December 21, which leads to August 11, 3114 BC as the day for 0 Baktun in the Gregorian calculations.

Doing similar calculations for the astronomer's Julian calendar requires that we split the 13 Baktun into pre and post 1700, and we have to account for the ten days Gregory XIII took off the calendar. Thus, there are 312 years at the Gregorian length, or 113955.66 Gregorian days. The remaining 1758044.34 days represent 4813.26 Julian years. Combined we have 5125.2631 mixed years for the astronomical Julian calendar. The difference in the astronomer's 13 Baktun period and the Gregorian 13 Baktun period is 0.0988 years. Using a 365.25 day year for simplicity, we have 36.087 fewer remainder days in the astronomer's calendar than in the simplified Gregorian calendar. However, the astronomer's calendar includes the intercalation of ten days by Gregory XIII, so the astronomer's remainder is 26.087 days shorter than the Gregorian remainder. This yields a 0 Baktun astronomer's date of September 6, 3114 BC. In the star charts in this essay, the astronomer's date is used in all cases. Thus, the astronomer's date of September 6, 3114 BC and the Gregorian date of August 11, 3114 BC are both 13 Baktun, or 1,872,000 days before December 21, 2012. Now we are ready to let the Maya prepare their own calendar, and see if they did it with fewer subjective anomalies than our present calendar.

According to Jenkins and other sources, the Maya began to use a Long Count Calendar some time before 200 B.C. The Long Count Calendar conversion from our "astronomer's" Julian calendar is provided in the table and graph below.

Long Count Calculations

The Maya long count calendar is a scientifically accurate linear count based upon cosmic measurement and logic. In order to develop the count, they had to have substantial knowledge of the heavens, for the calendar is synchronized to the heavens at each end. The long count calendar has a beginning at on the Julian date, September 6, 3114 B.C., and it ends on on the Julian date, December 21, 2012. The calendar is a sacred calendar and it covers the 1,872,000 days of the age of the 5th Sun, without the problem of leap year intercalations. The most important feature is the end date. The Julian calendar has a start date, but no end date. Jenkins concludes from the fact of an end date, that the Maya calendar was derived from the end date, rather than the start date. This is extremely important to the whole idea of a calendar. It can be related to convicts serving prison time, or military personal serving in the armed services. They tend to focus on the end date of their incarceration or term of duty. A non-subjective calendar only needs a single date from which positive and negative counts can be made. So, Jenkins has hit upon the essence of the concept of an age of the sun. It has a beginning which is determined by its end, as for convicts and military personnel, the end date is most important.

Long Count Correlation

There is one point regarding the long count calendar that needs special attention. Jenkins, and most current Mayanologists, use the long count start date, August 11, 3114 BC. This is twenty six days before September 6, 3114 BC. The variation is a result of the astronomer's calendar being different than the archaeologist's calendar. Since the purpose of this essay is to demonstrate the astronomical capabilities and the mythological correspondence to the heavens, we will use the September 6, 3114 B.C. date. To a Mayanologist who has limited understanding of the astronomy and the related subjectivity, the August 11, 3114 BC date will suffice. But, if we are to track the stars to see the story in the heavens, the date is of less importance than the number of days. That is what the Maya long count represents. It is a precise standard which will reveal information which otherwise could never be found. It is the number of days that is important. The standard unit is one day. Using the rotation of the earth and the zenith meridian crossing cycle as a reference, all celestial phenomena can be calibrated. Modern Western Civilization got caught in the sun cult of Sol Invictus during the Roman Empire period, and it has inherited significant inaccuracies and lost metaphors in its calendars as a result. The Maya did not get tangled up in the debate of the seasons, because the long count is not a sun cult measurement. The Maya Long Count is a direct measurement between the earth daily cycles, and the precessional cycles of the cosmos. It defines the cycles of the heavens using an easily observed phenomena, the zenith passing of a celestial object.

The symbolic Maya message of the age of the 5th Sun is the return of First Father, One Hunahpu, after the successful defeat of the Lords of Xibalba by his son, Hunahpu, in the cosmic ball court. According to the myth, the return of First Father will be out of the mouth of First Mother, as Hunahpu becomes the 5th Sun. If you listen carefully, you can hear an echo of the cosmic message which the Egyptians recorded in the myth of the conforming son Horus returning to restore the kingdom of his father, Osiris. From this we can hypothesize that the first four suns of the Maya must have been analogous to Osiris and his siblings along the Nile. The four active siblings of the past in Egypt were archetypal messengers for the metaphysical elements fire, air, water, and earth. The first four suns of the Maya must have a similar connection, since these four elements are the whole of our cosmic creation, and are present in the Maya myths. Hunahpu becoming the 5th Sun is a clear statement that enlightenment is the goal.

In Egypt, the child of the dead father was Horus, the posthumous son of Osiris to the miracle working wife, Isis. This child has to be a divine child due to his posthumous conception. Its name, Horus, was the same as the inactive uncle Horus the Elder, and even more important it was the same as the originator of all Egypt, Ra-Hor-Khuti, or the Horus of two horizons. This means that Horus, the son of Isis, was born to restore the kingdom of the First Father of Egypt. This Egyptian Horus son is the Mayan Hunahpu. And more importantly, the two First Father spirits are the same by the names Ra and One Hunahpu. The age of the 5th Sun in the Americas is the age of Horus in Egypt. There is much in the historical record which shows that the tribal kings of Egypt and the native Americans were called Son of the Sun. Thus, the living tribal kings were emulating the gods as god kings through enlightenment, i.e., learning the cosmic truths.

Anthropologists often associate these cultures with the label "sun worshipers." If we examine the mystique of the sun closely, we realize that it is the source of all life in the solar system, and for all we have yet experienced, life anywhere else. So, to be a "sun worshiper" means to be one who worships life. The sun is our source of light. Therefore, a king who successfully emulates the sun will become a source of light in the lives of those who follow him. Great priest-kings of the tribal communities of Egypt and the Americas strived to be beneficent enlightened providers of life to the tribes they served. This high communal responsibility idea is at the very core of the age known as the 5th Sun. The prior four ages resulted in humans identifying with the fundamental elements of the material, physical, mental, and spiritual cosmos. The fifth age has to be the age when the son of the sun returns to fulfill the purpose first established at the moment of conception by First Father within First Mother. These seven entities represent the complete cosmos of the ancient world of Egypt and the Americas, as well as every other location and time in the cosmos; earth/material, water/physical, air/mental, fire/esprit, son/conscious, mother/medium, father/message.

Now lets consider the meaning of the age of the 5th Sun as represented by the Maya, and in particular, as presented by John Major Jenkins in Maya Cosmogenesis 2012. It should be understood that the material sciences of Asia, Africa, and the Americas do not vary due to location on the earth. If the ancient cultures of the world were using the scientific method in the most sacred places of their cultures, then it should not be a surprise that discoveries made at locations widely separated around the planet come to similar conclusions. The objective conclusions are not dependent upon the seeker, they are totally dependent upon what is being sought. If the search is for cosmic awareness, then the metaphors which identify received awareness must be very similar in their expression, because all people around the world have the planet and their humanity in common. But, even more important in our cosmic pursuit, we all share the same stars throughout the ages. The angular location of the stars will vary with place and time on earth, and we should expect the myths to vary depending upon these variations of the visible stars. In the greater picture of the cosmos, the differences must fade, because we all share the cosmos from the perspective of the barque of the sun, the ecliptic solar system. Finding out where that barque is going, was the goal of every priest king who ever had a need to rule.

When the path of the solar barque is found, either it will demonstrate intelligent design, or it will demonstrate chaos. If it demonstrates the latter, then the search is futile, and even material science cannot prevail. If it demonstrates the former, the search is inevitably tied to the original intent. That is why, the world will change dramatically when the age of the 5th Sun passes successfully. Then, humanity will necessarily be counted amongst the gods who have recognized the inevitability of intentional design in creation. Thus, the end of the age of the 5th Sun was understood by the Maya to be the time of the release of the soul from the prison of material existence through cosmic enlightenment of the originating plan. The end date of all religions is revealed when the moment for the spirit to go to heaven arises. This occurred in the ritual of the transition back to the Milky Way through the Way of the Dead, Xibalba be, the dark rift at the Sagittarius ecliptic/galactic conjunction. Necessarily, this was also the location from which spiritual life emerged in to the material world. This celestial location synchronizes the cosmic object with the cosmic subject at the rebirth of the original intent.

Jenkins has clearly expressed a sentiment of the Maya. He expects a major new adventure to begin. However, there are some misperceptions in his works that are not of his doing, even though he put the works together. The major misperception is influenced by prior errant research by others, and scientific paradigms failing to communicate. Let us look at his understanding of the location in the heavens which foretell the coming age.

Jenkins, Diagram 184

Diagram 184 presents the information that Jenkins would have us use to identify the conjunction of the Milky Way and the ecliptic with the idea of conjuring or creating a New World Order, a cosmogenesis. This is not representative of what the ancients would have seen. It is a jumble of dots and lines. True, the figure can be used to illustrate in graphic metaphor the leftward (eastward) movement of planets and the sun along the horizontal line of the ecliptic, under the projection of the earth's equator near the place where the ecliptic plane intersects the plane of the galaxy at the farthest distance from the equatorial plane. This is a winter solstice conjunction near the center of the galaxy (GC). The diagram is very objective, and leaves little subjective evidence for communicating with the ancient vision. This is the scientific paradigm failing to communicate the cosmic subject. The "snapshot" of the graphic metaphor does not say that cosmic time is "right running" due to precession. That is the essential message which all great ancient monuments carry. Precession is the true measure of cosmic time, and therefore, the "Will of God."

Jenkins, Diagram 90

In Diagram 90 we have a conjecture of three subjective interpretations of the celestial vision. The question which needs to be clarified is, "Does the limited perception in the star chart result from erroneous ancient hallucinations, or modern narrow-mindedness." This is not an implication against Jenkins, but an implication against the paradigms of the modern education system. The lack of subjectivity in the star charts is an essential cause for misinterpretation, and retention of ignorance and prejudice regarding the ancient sky watchers. They did not see burning balls of gas, any more than a math student sees chalk dust on a blackboard. The ancient sky watchers saw spots of light first. Then the mind organized the spots into figures. After separate figures were sufficiently established in the ancient sky watchers' minds, they told stories about the sky apparitions. The Australian Aborigines still call the heavens the "dream time" place. It is essential to listen for the messages over a sufficient period of time to hear the cosmic story line of precession.

Many of the stories found relevance in daily life; like the establishment of calendars, for example, or scheduling rituals for celebrating life. I myself was out watching the sky with my fiancé one evening when a satellite crossed in front of our eyes. The movement was astonishing. But, when we realized that it had passed between her birth sign and mine, the satellite became more to us than just a moving spot before our eyes. It communicated directly to us on terms we could relate to. This relationship was subjective. Who but we could relate to it? On a later occasion my eight year old daughter and I were watching clouds moving around in the night sky blocking stars in peculiar forms. That week we had watched a video of the Little Mermaid by Disney Studios. As the clouds moved, an ominous shape appeared which looked remarkably like Ursula, the tyrannical octopus. Then to the south there appeared a pointed cloud with a large slender protrusion jutting out of it toward the Ursula cloud. These two clouds were being moved by the wind in such manner that they approached each other. Then, simultaneously, my daughter and I "saw" that Prince Eric was on the cloud approaching from the south. When the broken bow sprit on Prince Eric's cloud ship contacted the Ursula cloud, the Ursula cloud vanished. And shortly thereafter, Prince Eric's cloud vanished also. But, the one thing that was retained is the memory of a father and a daughter standing together outside viewing the heavens and seeing the heavens communicate directly to them. The perception is a " dream time" about real objects, real people, and real feelings. The heavens spoke to us that night. Is there any doubt that the number of stories that can be told about the heavens is beyond counting?

To avoid this problem, modern astronomers in most cases, and archaeologists and anthropologists in many cases, decrease the enormous task of retrieving past life information by the processes of redaction and deduction they believe to be objectivity. When it comes to star stories, objectivity is a cosmic holocaust. All star stories originate in the spots before the human face, but many of them end up on the temples, monuments, and rock or cave art of human cultures. Those images cannot be properly understood until the researcher returns to the time and place which inspired the image. This is what Jenkins did in preparing Maya Cosmogenesis 2012. He sought to retrieve the ancient celestial image using deductive procedures applied with an intuitive perception. In this regard he has been far more successful than any academic researcher, and he has out paced most of the intuitive type authors, because he uses star charts which have some subjective content.

Jenkins did not acknowledge in his studies that the planets move backward in cosmic time. Rather, he declared that the longest measure of time was the "backward" precession of the equinoxes. This is a residual perception from the "Sol Invictus" paradigm of the Roman conquerors. Modern scientific paradigms define time as an entity governing planetary motion, which to them appears as "left running." The ancient paradigms did not identify time, they identified place, and time was the path of the subjective view of cosmic place. The gods moved, and their movements were recorded in the story. This is the intuitive-sensitive process by which history becomes fact. But, history is never fact. History is always a subjective view of the facts. Modern science fabricated time as an entity in order to eliminate subjectivity in its paradigms. We speak of time as if we could put it into a bottle, but the only instant in time which can be said to exist has the magnitude of zero seconds. Thus, the modern scientific paradigm has given substance value to something that does not exist. As long as scientific paradigms deny subjectivity using the existence of time as the basis for the denial, science cannot comprehend subjective truths, and the scientific story will always be at odds with the spirit of being.

The idea of left running can be visualized by pointing the thumb of the extended right hand upward. The fingers point in the "left running" direction. The precession moves "backward" relative to this motion. In the solar system with the thumb of the right hand pointed toward the constellation Draco, the rotation of the earth and the orbiting direction of the moon, and the orbiting directions of the planets will go in the direction of the fingers. The sun will appear to be moving in the same direction, even though the earth is actually running around the sun. The "left running" perspective is reciprocal, because the dancing partners have a common upward direction.

The visual perception is like a solar merri-go-round suggesting that the stars and the seasonal markers move to the right. In order to appreciate the movement of the celestial gods in the ancient mind, it is necessary to sense the direction that the "dream time spirits" move relative to the observer. The "spirits" are the daily sky, the annual sky, and the precessional cross at the seasonal markers of the equinoxes and the solstices. These all are perceived as right running. The wobble of the polar axis is opposite the daily rotation and the planetary actions. However, since the eye cannot follow the precessional cross visually, these four markers are referenced to the background stars. It is this perception that reverses the precession and makes all three of the heavenly cycles in our solar boat go to the right in the ancient view of the stars. Since they did not see time as an entity, the right running perception worked best for the story line. It communicated the verifiable facts. Daily zenith stars, seasonal zenith stars, and precessional seasonal markers all move to the right as perceived from the earth.

If Orion is on the meridian at midnight on the winter solstice, it is on the right at the west horizon at dawn. At midnight on the spring equinox, Orion has moved to the right at the west horizon. The summer solstice position which is above Orion at midnight on the winter solstice was in Gemini for 2000 thousand years, and is now moving into Taurus, as it moves from left to right. From this perspective, all the true spirits of the story line in the heavens are moving toward the right, and are right running. Astronomy chooses the planetary direction of left running for several numerical reasons. First, and foremost, the sun is the center of the modern paradigm for heavenly movement, and it is considered stationary from the perspective of solar system dynamics. Equations which use positive time parameters are easier to understand than ones which use negative time parameters. Few students question whether time should be positive or negative. If negative time parameters were used, they would undoubtedly wonder why time was negative. But, they would accept that an entity called time could be positive from the past to the future.

What is lost in this discourse is that the true stationary timeless being is the whole cosmos. That was the reference for the ancient story lines. Thus, there was no time when a person would be dead. A person would simply return to the cosmos when the work of living was finished. The idea of living in heaven or hell for eternity requires time to be an entity. Without time as an entity, a person can move back and forth between heaven and earth by the way of the dead, which is the eternal story line of the heavens.

If we associate the precessional movement as the divine reality, then the direction of the travel is the direction the Leo asterism walks. Similarly, if we associate planetary movement in the solar system as the material reality, then the direction of travel is the direction the Aquarius asterism walks. It will be easy to remember if you associate Leo with the kingdom of heaven, and Aquarius with the life giving waters on earth.

Measurable cosmic time is "right running," and this longest measure of time is in opposition to planetary motion. Once the "left running" paradigm is switched to"right running," material science will switch to "sacred science." The "metaphors" in the sky move from left to right every daily cycle, every annual cycle, and every Platonic cycle. In the heavens, time is measured by "right running" of the gods. This point was written in Egyptian sculpture and art by showing the gods leading by their left foot. Since the Egyptian gods were asterisms of the heavens which always move to our right, their lead is with the left foot from our perspective. The planets were contrary gods who appear to be moving left, if this cosmic motion is ignored. The frame of reference is absolutely critical in interpreting any action in the heavens, or else an interpretation of any "snapshot" will be misleading with regard to any story line, which is the measure called time.

Astronomers designate the vernal equinox as the 1st of Aries, and adjust its position in epochs every 50 years. The epochs are "corrections" for the slow "backward" movement of the precession. This is a mathematical construct which allows the equations for planetary motions to be defined in terms of positive units of time. The construct becomes apparent when we search for star positions in past millennia. For example, the present right ascension position of the vernal equinox is zero hours, zero minutes zero seconds (00h 00m 00.0s) in Pisces. The vernal equinox location in Taurus in 3114 BC was at 04h 35m 35s right ascension from the present vernal equinox. This is a "forward" time value which is 04h 35m 35s "left" of the present vernal equinox position for a past epoch in terms of "right" ascension. It is an example of how objectivity in numerical computations confuse the subjective expression of a computation. This lack of precision in the use of subjective expression is amplified by calling the vernal equinox the 1st of Aries, when it is located 02h00m west of the constellation of Aries. This tendency to ignore subjective clarity for the sake of numerical simplicity and objectivity has caused many scientific practitioners to become "absent minded professors," when they apply science to real life situations. Common sense gets lost in the transition between scientific "common knowledge" and communication about the subjects of scientific studies. Society then elevates the "absent minded professors" to ivory towers where they make sounds like owls, but the average person does not give a hoot what they say. In this isolation, scientists abandon the conforming rituals of religious practice, and they rationalize the religious perspective as unscientific. On this basis, ancient sacred sciences are perceived as unscientific, and this erroneous perspective implies that the sacred sciences are untruth. That is the end result which causes theological perspectives and scientific perspectives to diverge. The two perspectives cannot communicate, because "how?" overpowers "why?" as objective methods fail to communicate subjective messages. These words are intended to illustrate the battle between common sense and experiential knowledge. We will see later that this battle is the essential battle with the Lord of Xibalba called Seven Macaw. Does Seven Macaw point the way of "Right Running" while tricking truth seekers into using "Left Running" paradigms?

Subjective content of the constellations was the source of the metaphysically based science of astrology. Today's science of tropical astrology is dominated by the "left running" planets. And that is a major source of astrological misinterpretations. It is Sol Invictus defeating the subjective spirits of the other stars. Since the telescope was invented by Galileo, we began to apply severe reductionist procedures to the heavens. Through the telescope we can see that there are no demons or gods in the heavens. This is equivalent to taking a powerful magnifying glass to a chalkboard and telling the class instructor that there is nothing on the chalkboard except dust. Any astronomy book will lead to names of constellations, but practically all of them say there never were any connections which resembled the names of the constellations. This incredibly baffling approach to scientific understanding must stand as the greatest fallacy of the modern world. To imply that the constellation names are the result of hallucinations is about as arrogant and insensitive an approach to understanding that can ever be imagined.

Science is not science when it begins with such incredible bias hidden within its hypotheses. That form of science is the tyranny the Maya attributed to the Lord of Xibalba, known as Seven Macaw at the "thieve's cross." Human birds resting on the perches of our ivory tower academic institutions lead to the loss of cosmic understanding in the modern world. Since they teach their methods to our children, the whole civilization suffers when it operates with these academic fetters. After hundreds of years, and many generations, the greater messages are lost to expedient objectivity. Yet, these very people are held up in highest intellectual esteem. The ivory towers provide them a place to flap their wings like in the aviary of a bird park. Our children need these places of growth, but when the altitude of the academics becomes too high to see the source of the stars, they teach a rational bias which must be confronted, without destroying their perches.
